We have a few Barn Owl pairs with young out of the nest in central County Durham - this is around 5 weeks earlier than usual.
How are other areas doing ?
Rather strangely, our strong LEO population is having a poor time of it - even where they are living & hunting side by side with the Barnies.
One spot were the 2 species are breeding only 15m apart, the Barnies are bringing in up to 12 prey items an hour, compared to the Long-eareds 4.
