If a walkover survey of the site reveals the possibility of one or more potential nest sites (PNS) for Barn Owls I would recommend that you include this Schedule 1 species in your survey of former industrial land in the Greater Manchester Area.
Rural locations are the norm but urban sites like these can occasionally provide breeding opportunities to Barn Owls.
